The Department of Fire and Emergency Services advises:
(a)
(i-ii) The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, along with the Gascoyne Development Commission, serves as the lead agency supporting impacted growers. DFES has a coordination function and supports local governments to lead local recovery.
DFES Midwest Gascoyne Regional Office has two staff based full-time in Carnarvon who have been liaising with the Shire of Carnarvon and engaging with impacted community members as required.
The DFES Pilbara Regional Office has two staff actively assisting the Shire of Exmouth and community with their recovery needs.
Six DFES State Recovery staff have been deployed to the regions on seven occasions to:
· Provide support and advice to the local governments, as they lead their recovery efforts.
· Provide direct support to impacted community members, including horticultural growers and pastoralists.
· Undertake outreach to impacted community members, including horticultural growers and pastoralists, as required.
