(2) $501 million for existing customers, plus $424 million to cater for expected growth (including inflation). (3) $5.6 million per annum (water only). (4) Potable water demand in the Goldfields is expected to grow from the present level of approximately 13.4 gigalitres in an unrestricted year to 23.6 gigalitres by 2030. Although the Water Corporation has not ruled out alternative options for the future, current planning involves supplying this growth from Mundaring Weir. This in turn relies on the development of other sources for the Integrated Water Supply Scheme, which also supplies the Perth metropolitan area. In addition, the Mundaring to Kalgoorlie pipeline incorporates many individual facilities, the upgrading of which leads to incremental increases in supply capacity. With this in mind, upgrades are planned to remove bottlenecks in a manner that maximises the increase in overall supply capacity. The current planned program of upgrades proposed to increase the supply capacity of the G&AWS includes the following: · Koorarawalyee tank and Walgoolan Pump Station will be completed in 2004. · An additional Kalgoorlie Reservoir will be constructed at Bindulli by 2007. This Reservoir almost doubles the amount of water stored in Kalgoorlie. · By 2010, additional storage at Sawyers Valley and Kalgoorlie and five pump station upgrades at Chidlow, Grass Valley, Southern Cross, Boondi and Koorarawalyee will be complete. · By 2020, nine pump stations will be upgraded at: Mundaring, Meckering, Wundowie, Bandee, Cunderdin, Yerbillon, Nulla, Karalee and Bullabulling, in addition to construction of 30km of new pipeline.
