I refer to the Yarragadee and Leederville aquifers, and ask -
(1) Will the MInister table all policies relating to the Leederville aquifer, including the protection of the aquifer and the basis for water allocation from the aquifer?
(2) What is the annual rate of recharge for the Leederville aquifer?
(3) What is the total annual water allocation from the Leederville acquifer?
(4) How many applications seeking water allocation from the Leederville aquifer are currently before the Minister and/or Department of Water, and what is the amount of water allocation being sought?
(5) Will the MInister table all policies relating to the Yarragadee aquifer, including the protection of the aquifer and the basis for water allocation from the aquifer?
(6) What is the annual rate of recharge for the Yarragadee aquifer?
(7) What is the total annual water allocation from the Yarragadee acquifer?
(8) How many applications seeking water allocation from the Yarragadee aquifer are currently before the Minister and/or Department of Water, and what is the amount of water allocation being sought?
(9) What impact does the drawdown of water from the Yarragadee aquifer have on the Leederville aquifer and vice versa?
(10) Has the proponent of the Osmington coalmine (or its agents/representatives) applied for an allocation of water from either the Yarragadee or the Leederville aquifer?
(11) If yes to (10), -
(a) which aquifer;
(b) what annual volume of water allocation has been sought and over what period of time;
(c) what is the current status of the application; and
(d) is the application likely to be approved?

The Minister for Water has provided the following response:
(1-9) As there are multiple disconnected Leederville and Yarragadee aquifers across the South West of Western Australia, the Hon Member is requested to clarify the particular aquifer or aquifers of interest, at which time responses to questions 1 to 9 can be provided.
(10) No such application has been received by the Department of Water.
