DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING — REPORTS
I refer to two reports regarding the Department of Education and Training that were commissioned by the government in 2007. Will the minister make public the public sector management report, which was undertaken by Ms Prudence Ford; and the taskforce report, which was headed by Professor Lance Twomey; and, if the minister will not make those reports public, why not? Mr M. McGOWAN

I respect the member for Darling Range, but the functional review report, which I think is the first report he referred to, is not a report to me; it is a report to the Premier. Mr J.H.D. Day : Will you urge him to make it available? Mr M. McGOWAN : That was not the member’s question. Mr J.H.D. Day : I am asking you whether you think it should be. Mr M. McGOWAN : It is a report to the Premier. Ordinarily, those reports are not released, and that has been the practice under all governments. In relation to the other report into the future of teaching, I have already undertaken publicly to release it once it has been considered by cabinet.
