CARNARVON POWER STATION
I refer to the “Carnarvon Power Station” page of the Horizon Power website, which stated on 27 March 2009 that Horizon Power has embarked on a project to develop a power station at a new site in Carnarvon to meet the growing electricity needs of the Carnarvon community. (1) Does it continue to be the intention of Horizon Power to develop a new power station at a new site away from residential areas? (2) Has such a site been identified? Hon PETER COLLIER

(1) Yes. (2) Yes. A site was acquired in 2005, but subsequently a better site has been identified. Flora, fauna, heritage and geotechnical surveys are complete and negotiations are proceeding towards acquisition of the site.
