1466. Hon COLIN de GRUSSA to the minister representing the
Minister for Housing:
I refer to public housing stock
within the City of Melville area.
(1) How many properties are there
in total stock within the city as of the latest available data?
(2) How many properties in the city
are currently vacant?
(3) What is the longest time any of
the properties in (2) have remained vacant?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following response has been provided by the
Minister for Housing.
(1) There are 1 066 properties.
(2) There are 42
vacant properties, representing less than 0.04 per cent of total stock in the
local government area. Of those homes, 40 are returning to service and are
currently undergoing, or are scheduled for, maintenance repairs or
refurbishment, or are in the process of being offered to applicants on the
waitlist. Two homes are being considered for demolition or redevelopment.
(3) A property leased to a community services provider
and utilised until May 2023 is currently being prepared for handing back
to the Department of Communities.
