1105. Hon RICK MAZZA to the minister representing the
Minister for Police:
I
refer to my question without notice 1086 yesterday regarding the firearms
reform ministerial working group that was formed to assess the
implementation of the 143 recommendations in the Law Reform Commission of Western
Australia's 105 th report, ''Review of the Firearms
Act 1973 (WA)''.
(1) What is the
expected date that the draft bill covering the first tranche of recommendations
will be provided to the ministerial working group for consultation?
(2) What is the
expected date that the ministerial working group will be reconvened to work
through the second tranche of recommendations?

the Minister for Police.
(1)–(2) Work
is progressing towards having a bill ready to introduce in 2020. The
ministerial working group will be reconvened when a bill is available.
