153. Hon Ljiljanna Ravlich to the Leader of the House representing the Premier:
I refer to the Premiers answer to question on notice 1272 of June 19 1997 and ask -
(1) Can the Premier advise why two of the 11 agencies - TAB and Treasury Department - that were negotiating the Business Information Processing Agencies Consortium (BIPAC) contract with Computer Sciences Corporation (Australia) Pty Ltd did not sign the contract?
(2) Have any contracts been awarded by the TAB and Treasury Department for computer services which would have been provided by BIPAC?
(3) If yes, can the Premier provide the following information for each contract :
(a) the name of the contractor;
(b) the award date;
(c) the expiry date;
(d) the services provided;
(e) the original contract cost;
(f) if completed, the actual final cost; and
(g) if not completed, the estimated final cost?
(4) What cost savings, if any, has Treasury Department achieved from the contracting out of its computer services?
(5) What cost savings, if any, has the TAB achieved from the contracting out of its computer services?
