(1) Will the State Government provide $5 million towards the cost of the World Heritage Interpretative Centre at Denham? (2) If not, why not? Hon TOM STEPHENS

(1)-(2) The Leader of the Opposition is an experienced member of this Chamber. Therefore, he knows that the bringing down of the budget is when budgetary measures, such as the one he raised, are announced. The Leader of the Opposition would be wise to spend his time advocating with his federal colleagues that matching funds are made available by the federal Government to assist the World Interpretive Heritage Centre for the communities of Denham and Shark Bay, and for the visitors to that centre. It is time that the federal Government delivered on the World Heritage Interpretive Centre because it is something to which those communities have always aspired, as has this Government. The Government would appreciate it if the Leader of the Opposition and his federal counterparts, in particular the federal member for Kalgoorlie, were to ensure that federal government resources are quickly made available.
