How many minerals titles already approved under the Mines Act processes would be available for immediate processing by a new state native title regime were it to be established? Hon N.F. MOORE

The Labor Party got its just rewards in Kalgoorlie the other day. I have no doubt that we will hear more about this particular issue in due course. I suspect that the Leader of the Opposition will be persona non grata in Kalgoorlie as a result of his attitude towards this matter. Subject to a review of the number of applications covered by the Full Bench of the Federal Court decision in the Miriuwung-Gajerrong case, approximately 8 800 applications for mining tenements which have cleared the Mining Act processes would be able to be processed under a new state native title regime.
