(1-3) The Government supports all providers of commercial passenger transport services that operate using properly licensed drivers and vehicles. The Department of Transport will monitor compliance of ride-sharing drivers and vehicles, and where unlicensed vehicles or drivers are identified they will be dealt with under the Transport Co-ordination Act 1966 or Taxi Act 1994 or referred to the Western Australia Police in the case of offences under the Road Traffic Act 1974.
(4-6) The Department of Transport is monitoring the activity of prospective new entrants and will provide ongoing advice to the Government on issues arising and appropriate means of addressing them.
