I refer to question on notice No. 782 of May 15 2003 and the answers provided -
(1) Prior to receiving Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines Pty Ltd letter and map clearly showing the position of the proposed access road and the associated underlying mining tenements on September 17 2001, did the Department of Minerals and Energy receive any written correspondence or a management plan of the works from the supervising engineer of the Australian Prospectors and Miners Hall of Fame (APMHOF) for the access road to the APMHOF?
(2) If no to (1), why not?
(3) If yes to (1), can the Minister state the specific date and the text of the management plan which specifically covers the works on the access road?
(4) Can the Minister state who from the Department and KCGM discussed the APMHOF access road on the September 17 2001?
(5) If no to (4), why not?
(6) Can the Minister quote the specific text or table any file notes of the discussion which took place on September 17 2001 concerning the APMHOF access road?
(7) If no to (6), why not?
(8) Given the Department received the letter and map on the September 17 2001 clearly showing the proposed access road and the underlining mining tenements, can the Minister state whether any checks were made by Departmental Officers to compare the KCGM supplied map with the Departmental map and the underlying mining tenements to ensure that the access road was clearly on KCGM owned or controlled tenements?
(9) If no to (8), why was such a important procedure not carried out by the Department?
(10) If yes to (8), how was this undertaken by the Department?
