164. Hon Tjorn Sibma to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Education:

schools and the Principal health and wellbeing
strategy 2023–2027 .
(1) How many principals requested support for
stress-related issues in the school year 2024?
(2) How many principals
requested collegiate principal support in the school year 2024?
(3) What were the three most common reasons
principals sought collegiate principal support in the year 2024?
(4) For each of the reasons provided in (3), how
many principals cited each reason in the school year 2024?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) Requests for support go directly to private
providers delivering the employee assistance program. Due to confidentiality,
the department does not have access to this information.
(2) It is 210.
(3) They were leadership and responding to change,
support with school self-assessment and planning and building the capacity of
staff.
(4) The answer is in tabular form, so I seek leave
to have that incorporated into Hansard .
Leave granted for
the following material to be incorporated.
Reasons
Number of
principals
Leadership
and responding to change
117
Support with
school self-assessment and planning
106
Building and
capacity of staff
89
There is a note that
says the numbers will not total 210 as principals can select more than one
reason for engagement with a collegiate principal.
