MENTALLY ILL PATIENTS - SMOKING
(1) Can the minister please confirm that mentally ill patients in the high security forensic unit at Graylands Hospital are now banned from smoking cigarettes? (2) Can he confirm that these patients are not allowed to smoke in the courtyards of the secure facility? (3) Can he confirm that these patients are not allowed to smoke in the secure open areas to which they have access? (4) If yes to any or all of the above, when did the ban on cigarette smoking commence? (5) Can the minister please outline what difficulties have been encountered as a result of banning smoking by these seriously mentally ill patients, most of whom are severely agitated and depressed and locked in to the secure area of the hospital?
