I refer to the Department of Justice press release of 29 March 2005 announcing the return to secure custody of 14 long-term prisoners. (1) For each of the 14 prisoners, what offences were they being held for? (2) What was the commencing date of each prisoner’s imprisonment and what was his respective earliest date of release? (3) Which of the 14 prisoners could be released only by order of the Governor in Council, and of those how many were - (a) strict security life; (b) life; (c) safe custody at the direction of the Governor; (d) indefinite imprisonment; or (e) other? (4) Of those prisoners in (3), how many required approval for their transfer under section 26(2) of the Prisons Act 1981 and when was it given?
