1. Modifications to the Water Corporation's water supply, sewerage and drainage assets carried out for the Southern Suburbs Railway are shown on the attached table. This summary excludes some drainage works that were undertaken as part of road works. Due to the nature of the design and construct contracts, the detail of the modifications to road drainage systems (and their associated costs) are not readily available.
2. (a) and (b) The total cost of modifications to Water Corporation services carried out within the Southern Suburbs Railway construction contracts is approximately $10 million. Some costs for service modifications cannot be easily separated from the overall cost of the civil and road works. The approximate breakdown of total costs for modifications to Water Corporation assets under the main Southern Suburbs Railway contracts is:
· Package A $5.1 million
· Package E $0.5 million
· Package F $4.5 million
3. Under the design and construct contracts, each contractor, including RailLink Join Venture (Package A) and Leighton Contractors (Package E & F), is responsible for the modifications as part of their costs of delivering the contract works.
