I refer to section 12 of the Voluntary Assisted Dying
Act 2019 which provides that ‘[f]or the purposes of the law of the State, a
person who dies as the result of the administration of a prescribed substance
in accordance with this Act does not die by suicide', and I ask: (a) how many suicides were recorded in WA between 1
July 2021-30 June 2022; (b) how many suicides were recorded in WA between 1
July 2020-30 June 2021; (c) how many suicides were recorded in WA between 1
July 2019-30 June 2020; (d) how many suicides were recorded in WA between 1
July 2018-30 June 2019; and (e) how many suicides were recorded in WA between 1
July 2017-30 June 2018?
