TABCORP — AUSTRALIAN FEDERAL POLICE
INVESTIGATION
143. Mr M.P. MURRAY to the Treasurer:
I ask a supplementary question. Why
is the sale of the TAB now not a priority compared with the Treasurer's
earlier position and why has he created uncertainty for the racing industry for
years for nothing?

The member should get away from the
conspiracy theories via Cambodia and think for a minute about what I said. I said
that in order for the sale to go ahead, we have to have the industry on side.
They have to come and be on side.
Mr
M.P. Murray interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Collie–Preston!
Dr
M.D. NAHAN : I am a bit confused. I thought he was arguing against it. He
said industry was against the sale.
Mr
M.P. Murray interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Collie–Preston, I am just warning again. Do not
just shout out all the time. Minister, through the Chair.
Dr
M.D. NAHAN : I am perplexed at the question. The member for Collie–Preston,
the shadow Minister for Racing and Gaming, has stated over and over again in
this place that the industry is against the sale. Now he is trying to criticise
me for not recognising that the industry is on side for the sale. He should get
his act together.
