(1 - 2) While there is an estimated 285 000 people living in the north-west sub-region (which includes Joondalup and Wanneroo) only one complaint has been received regarding noise alongside the Joondalup rail line since new car parks were built by the Liberal-National Government. The Member would be aware that the car parking bays have been built as the result of an election commitment by the Liberal-National Government to build 3 000 parking bays along the north-south rail line. This commitment was necessary as a result of the previous Labor Government, of which the Member was part, neglecting parking needs along the rail line over its many years in government.
