308. Hon SALLY TALBOT to the Leader of the
House representing the Premier:
I refer to the January Waroona
bushfire and the destruction of the township of Yarloop.
(1) What is the cost of the Yarloop
demolition and clean-up?
(2) Who has been contracted to do
the Yarloop demolition and clean-up?
(3) Where is their headquarters and
where will they be based in the south west?
(4) Was there a tender process?
(5) If yes to (4), will the Premier
table the selection criteria for the tender?
(6) If no to (4), why not?

some notice of this question.
(1) The member
needs to clarify whether she is referring to the cost to date or the estimated
total project cost.
(2) Toxfree
Australia Pty Ltd has been contracted for demolition and hazardous waste
remediation and Engtech Risk Consultants Pty Ltd has been contracted for
environmental services.
(3) Toxfree
headquarters is in Nedlands and ER Consultants headquarters is in City Beach,
WA. Both are based in Yarloop.
(4) No.
(5) Not Applicable.
(6) As there was
an emergency situation declaration and due to the safety concerns associated
with the significant contamination, in line with State Supply Commission policies,
the Department of the Premier and Cabinet waived a public tender process.
