I refer to question on notice No. 2337 asked Tuesday, August 24 2004, and I ask -
(1) Did the expenditure of $1 458 400 on legal services for Peter Hastings QC include costs of his accommodation in Perth, and his interstate travel between Sydney/Perth, Perth/Sydney, as well as his legal fee?
(2) If yes, what sum was paid for -
(a) Mr Hastings’ accommodation in Perth; and
(b) Mr Hastings’ interstate travel between Sydney/Perth, Perth/Sydney?
(3) If not, was any amount additional to the $1 458 400 paid for -
(a) Mr Hastings’ accommodation in Perth; and
(b) Mr Hastings’ interstate travel between Sydney/Perth, Perth/Sydney?
(4) How many trips by Mr Hastings between Sydney/Perth, Perth/Sydney were paid for by Government through the Royal Commission allocation?
