I thank Hon Nigel Hallett for providing some advice of the question. (1) The current phase of planning investigations to identify feasible long-term water sources for Walpole will be completed within two months. This answer is dated 28 February. (2) Community consultation will also commence within the next two months. (3) Timing of source development will be subject to the relevant regulatory approval processes. It is anticipated that a new source will be available in approximately five years. Until then, interim measures will be implemented to meet demand.
