BLUEWATERS POWER
910. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Energy:
This question was lodged last week,
so I hope the parliamentary secretary has it. It is question 927. I refer to
the government's indication that it will seek to exclude or prevent
Bluewaters Power from the renewal of existing energy contracts with the Water
Corporation and Synergy, which end next year, in 2025.
(1) Has the process of replacing the existing power
contracts commenced and what action has taken place to date?
(2) Does the
government still intend to remove the contracts from Bluewaters as stated by
the then Minister for Energy in the media on 21 June 2022?
(3) Are any of the contracts planned to be filled by
internal generation from Synergy or the Water Corporation ; and, if so,
which contracts and to what capacity?
(4) From what
sources does the government plan to find that energy?
(5) Will the public, including the Collie community,
be told the outcome of the contracts before the March 2025 state
election?
