(1) Customised training is available through both public and privately funded training organisations. This training is negotiated between the employer and the training organisation to meet the employer's requirements. Training WA encourages the use of more flexible and innovative training delivery methods in line with consumer needs. Teaching, learning and assessment in the workplace and other non-institutional settings is also promoted.
(2) When customised training is arranged, it is on a client by client basis. Due to the commercial nature of these arrangements, the Department of Training and Workforce Development is not advised as to numbers.
(3) The cost of providing an employer with customised training is carried by the employer and will vary according to the provider.
(4) Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) undertake RPL assessment. If an employer is also an RTO then they can offer RPL.
(5)(a) All Registered Training Organisations are required to offer RPL assessment for all qualifications they are scoped to deliver.
(b) The Department does not collect data on assessments undertaken by employers.
