Fuel supply—Security
102. Mr Lachlan Hunter to
the Premier:
I have a
supplementary question.
What
does the Premier say to our farming communities who are preparing for seeding
and cannot secure sufficient fuel supplies for their seeding equipment and
tractors?

AnswerView source ↗

All members of our
community, whether they are from the farming community, the business community
or a household, know that my government will listen to their concerns and
respond.
Mr Lachlan Hunter interjected.
The Speaker: Member for Central Wheatbelt, you have
asked the question. Listen to the response, please.
Mr Roger Cook: We
will continue to do whatever we can to ensure that those fuel supplies remain

The Speaker: Members!
Mr Roger Cook: We will continue to monitor the
situation to make sure that everyone in Western Australia can access the fuel
supplies they need. There are no structural reasons why fuel supplies are
challenged at the moment. The reality is that we have seen a spike in demand.
Mr Lachlan Hunter interjected.
The Speaker: Member for Central Wheatbelt, I am
calling you for the first time. Stop interjecting, please!
Mr Roger Cook: We know that there has been a spike in
demand. We accept that, and we need to understand what the impact of that is
and what the state government can do. That is what our round table is about. It
is about making sure that we sit down with and listen to the community and
industry to ensure that we understand the impact of these issues so that we can
respond.
