ANNUAL REPORT ON STATE FINANCES 2023–24 — SPECIAL PURPOSE
ACCOUNTS
1420. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the minister representing the
Treasurer:
I refer to the proliferation of special purpose accounts
under the McGowan and Cook Labor governments and to the 2023–24 Annual report on state finances , which stated
that aggregate Treasury SPA balances as at 30 June 2024 were $2.3 billion
higher than at the same time last year.
I ask for the following information as at 6 November 2024.
(1) How many special purpose accounts currently exist or
operate?
(2) What is the balance of each special purpose account?
(3) What is the estimated or projected balance of each SPA on
30 June 2025?
(4) What is the estimated operating period for each SPA?
