(a) as at 9 March 2010 how many vehicles are allocated to the department or agency;
(b) what washing arrangements are provided for each vehicle;
(c) if any vehicle is commercially cleaned since 23 September 2008 please provide:
(i) the cost breakdown for each vehicle and cleaning bill;
(ii) how often each vehicle is booked in to be commercially cleaned;
(iii) the address where the vehicle is cleaned; and
(iv) advise whether vehicles are cleaned during office hours;
(d) what detailing arrangements are provided for each vehicle;
(e) if any vehicle is commercially detailed since 23 September 2008 please provide:

For the Department of Education
(a) 450 leased vehicles (excludes owned buses).
(b) Some operational vehicles have car wash access on fuel cards whilst others are washed at central office, 151 Royal Street, East Perth.
(c) (i) Refer to attachment 1 [See tabled paper no.]
(ii) Central office pool vehicles are washed weekly. Outstation vehicles that have car wash access on fuel cards are washed as required;
(iii) Central office pool vehicles are washed at Central office, 151 Royal Street, East Perth; and outstation vehicles can be washed at various locations.
(iv) Vehicles may be washed during office hours if not in use.
(d) Vehicles are not detailed. However, in some cases, parts of vehicles have had to be buffed as normal washing is inadequate. Examples include bird droppings and sap from trees. Vehicles in this category are minimal and information has been included under cleaning.
(e)(i) - (e)(iv) Not applicable.
(f) Refer to answer (c)(i).
Country High School Hostels Authority
(a) Two.
(b) Drivers wash vehicles in own time.
(c) (i) Not applicable, no vehicles commercially cleaned:

(b) Garaging officers are normally required to clean vehicles, however, on occasions where a vehicle is required to be taken on gravel roads during business trips there is provision for officers to claim car wash expenses.

(b) Fuel cards assigned to Tourism Western Australia vehicles provide for the use of car washing facilities at participating service stations. Tourism Western Australia policy requires vehicle custodians to keep vehicles in a clean, tidy and well-maintained condition, including regular washing.

(c) (iv) Car washing occurs both within and outside office hours.
(d) Detailing of vehicles occurs on an as required basis, as identified by Tourism Western Australia's Asset Manager. Detailing of vehicles in regional (red dirt) locations also supports the use of Tourism Western Australia vehicles with VIP visits to the location.
