I thank the member for notice of this question. In 2007-08 the level of unmet demand for specialist services as measured through the combined application process increased by 26 per cent from the previous year. In 2008-09 unmet demand for specialist services decreased by 1.7 per cent from the previous year due to increased state government funding and commonwealth growth funding. If the rate of new applications remains unchanged over the next three years, it is anticipated that the additional state government commitment to growth funding, along with commonwealth growth funds, will contain increased growth in unmet demand.
