on rogue tow truck drivers as Saffioti pledges action”, and I ask: (a) What role or responsibility does Consumer Protection have in the development and drafting of the new regulations; (b) Which State or Territory will Western Australia’s new regulations be modelled on, or most aligned with; (c) What are the key changes for the WA tow truck industry and WA drivers that the new regulations will include; (d) Will the new regulations include: (i) An Industry Code of Conduct; (ii) Maximum tow and storage fees; (iii) Regulation of call-out fees and charges for separate activities incidental to the towing service such as administration fees; (iv) Requirements for annual or regular inspections of tow trucks; (v) Requirements for tow truck drivers to obtain accreditation and/or undertake education and training; (vi) Requirements for tow trucks to take the most direct route; and (vii) Regulation of spotters fees, commissions or chase cars; (e) How and when will the Minister consult with the tow truck industry on the new regulations; (f) When will the new regulations be drafted; and (g) When is it anticipated the new regulations will come into effect?
