ONE MOVEMENT FOR MUSIC FESTIVAL — SASKIA DOHERTY
I have a supplementary question. Why, when the minister claims to set so much store by integrity in parliamentary standards, did she fail to correct the record and apologise to this house at the very first possible opportunity when she realised there was a conflict and was alerted to that? Dr E. CONSTABLE

Yesterday, which was the first opportunity I was given, I tabled in this house the report of the Public Sector Commissioner. Mr J.N. Hyde interjected. The SPEAKER : Member for Perth! Dr E. CONSTABLE : Mr Speaker — Mr J.N. Hyde interjected. The SPEAKER : Member for Perth, I have given you the opportunity to ask a supplementary question. You are getting an answer; it might not be the one that you have asked for, but you are getting an answer. Dr E. CONSTABLE : I was informed of two things on 11 January this year. One was that the Public Sector Commissioner had been looking at the issues and the allegations of conflict of interest, and that was the first that I knew that he was doing that. On 4 February I received his report and yesterday I tabled that report, which was the first opportunity I had — Ms M.M. Quirk interjected. The SPEAKER : Member for Girrawheen, I hope you are not going to start a process, which happened yesterday, whereby question time in this place was not appropriate. It was not appropriate at all. I formally call you for the first time. I suggest to all members in this place that if you want to have extended question time and, to people on both sides of the house, if you want to have an opportunity to ask a question and maybe get an answer, maybe your behaviour at times could be improved. Minister, take the call. Mr J.N. Hyde interjected. The SPEAKER : Member for Perth! I formally call you for the first time. Mr J.N. Hyde interjected. The SPEAKER : I formally call you for the second time while I am on my feet. Member for Albany, you do not have the call, I have not given you the call and I do not want to hear from you. Dr E. CONSTABLE : Certainly in January I had an informal discussion, an informal briefing. I did not receive the report until 4 February this year and yesterday was the first opportunity I was afforded to table that report.
