I refer to the current fuel crisis and I ask: (a) Has the Government considered implementing fuel rationing in Western Australia: (i) If so, what would enforced rationing look like in practice; (b) Has any advice been sought from the Commonwealth regarding emergency powers or coordinated national responses; (c) What legislative or regulatory mechanisms would be used to enforce rationing if required; (d) How much fuel from the national stockpile has been allocated to Western Australia; (e) How much of the national stockpile has already been drawn down; (f) What discussions has the State Government had with the Commonwealth regarding additional allocations; (g) The Government has referenced accessing the spot market. What volumes are being secured through this mechanism; and (h) How much of that fuel is reaching regional Western Australia each day?

(a)-(h)
The supply of fuel into WA remains uninterrupted and continues to meet demand. WA has been allocated its share of the 20% Minimum Stockholding Obligation draw down and the State Government has established a Strategic Fuel Stockpile to respond to any future localised shortages in regional areas.
The Government will consider all appropriate options to maintain fuel security in line with the National Fuel Security Plan. The State Government continues to engage regularly with the Commonwealth Government on matters of fuel security.
