the Attorney General representing the Minister for Police:
I refer to the Minister for Police's
answer to question without notice 994 and to the fact that details of the
offender's prior record were published on the PerthNow website on 11 September
2015 and in The West Australian on 19
September 2015, which the minister advised contravenes provisions of the Young Offenders
Act 1994.
(1) Has the
minister referred the matter to the professional standards section to
investigate the identity of the person who provided this information to
journalists?
(2) If no to (1), why not?

(1) No.
(2) If it is
alleged that information has been released unlawfully, the Office of the
Director of Public Prosecutions for Western Australia and the President of the
Children's Court are responsible to initiate any action.
