I refer to the Minister’s answer to my question on notice of Thursday, May 31 2001 regarding the cleanup of suspected Polychlorinated Biphenyl chemicals (PCBs) at the old Wittenoon mine site, and ask -
(1) Have negotiations between the Government and the Mining Tenement Holders regarding the site cleanup been completed?
(2) If no to (1), when does the Minister expect negotiations to be finalised?
(3) Is yes to (1), have the oil drums and oil residues on and near the site yet been tested for PCB contamination?
(4) If yes to (3), what were the results of these tests?
(5) If no to (3), when is it expected that the tests will be carried out?
