I refer the minister to the report commissioned by Main Roads Western Australia titled “Summary of Practice for Supervised School Crossings” of June 1998, completed by independent consultant ARRB Transport Research Ltd and ask - (1) Does the minister agree with the findings in the report that police may not be the best management group for school crossings in Western Australia? (2) Has the minister taken any action to address this concern outlined by the report; and, if so, what has been done? (3) If no action has been taken, why not? (4) Does the minister plan to remove the management of school crossings from the Western Australia Police Service? (5) If not, why not? Hon PETER FOSS
