(1) What are the minimum and maximum emergency services levy charges in categories 1, 2, 3 and 4 for both residential and commercial properties applicable in each of the financial years 2008–09, 2009–10, 2010–11 and 2011–12? (2) Are there any plans or proposals to raise these maximum and minimum charges in the 2012–13 financial year? (3) If so, what are they? (1) The minimum annual ESL charges for all properties and all ESL categories are: 2008–09, $40; 2009–10, $43; 2010–11, $50; and 2011–12, $55. The maximum annual ESL charges for single residential properties are as follows — All ESL Categories 2008–09, $215 2009–10 category 1, $225; category 2, $170; category 3, 115; category 4, $80. 2010–11 category 1, $260; category 2, $200; category 3, $135; category 4, $95. 2011–12 category 1, $280; category 2, $210; category 3, $140; category 4, $100. Note that the maximum ESL charge threshold for a residential property with multiple living units is the threshold shown above, multiplied by the number of units. For example, the maximum charge for a duplex house, ESL category 1 in 2011–12 is $560—that is, two times $280. The maximum ESL charge for commercial properties is as follows — 2008–09 all ESL categories, $125 000 2009–10 category 1, $130 000; category 2, $100 000; category 3, $65 000; category 4, $45 000. 2010–11 category 1, $150 000; category 2, $115 000; category 3, $75 000; category 4, $52 000. 2011–12 category 1, $160 000; category 2, $120 000; category 3, $80 000; category 4, $56 000.
