(1-2) The Department for Child Protection and Family Support provided financial assistance payments through the former Family Crisis program until the program ceased on 2 September 2013. The annual funding allocation and expenditure was:

Since 2 September 2013, the Department for Child Protection and Family Support has allocated $285,000 for the provision of emergency financial assistance payments relating to individuals and families escaping family and domestic violence; emergency homelessness support for families with children and stranded travel. The emergency financial assistance expenditure to 31 March 2014 is $170,656.
