I thank the member for some notice of the question, which I answer on behalf of the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Regional Development. (1) An estimated total of $5.748 million has been expended as part of the northern towns development fund as at 30 June 2011. This is an unaudited amount, which will be confirmed in the annual report of the Department of Planning and the royalties for regions progress report to be tabled in Parliament towards the end of the year. (2) The allocation for the northern towns development fund for 2011–12 is $9.824 million (3) A draft application process has been developed to access funding for future years. That process is currently subject to cabinet approval.
