(2) Can the Minister inform the House of the names of the six medical practitioners who are members of the panel appointed by the Minister whose responsibility it is to review and justify a procedure carried out if a pregnancy is 20 weeks?
(3) Will the Minister name the doctors from this panel who have been called upon to justify the procedure?
(4) Can the Minister indicate the number of times each doctor has been called upon?

Since the change of legislation in May 1998, there have been 107 induced abortions of greater than or equal to twenty weeks gestation.

The names of the six medical practitioners are confidential and therefore cannot be released.

A minimum of three members of the panel has reviewed each of the 107 cases. One panel member was present in the majority of the reviews. The other five panel members were involved on a rotational basis.
