Kalgoorlie Health Campus—Radiology billing
509. Hon Nick Goiran to
the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the
meeting on 20 January 2026 between the minister, her staff and representatives
of a private radiology company from Kalgoorlie and the concerns regarding
billing practices at Kalgoorlie Health Campus.
(1) Will the minister provide to the Standing
Committee on Estimates and Financial Operations, prior to its hearing on 25 June
2026, all records generated on or after 20 January 2026 concerning that meeting
or the billing practices discussed at the meeting created by:
(a) the minister's office;
(b) the department; and
(c) the WA Country Health Service?
(2) If no to (1)(a), (b) or (c), why not?
(3) Further to (2), is the minister aware
of any good reason that the house should not suspend standing orders so that an
order to produce can be issued for these documents, so that the work of the standing
committee next week can be facilitated rather than frustrated?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question. The following answer has
been provided by the Minister for Health.
(1)–(3) The Standing Committee on Estimates and
Financial Operations is able to request documents through established
processes. No request for the documents outlined has been made prior to this question
by the committee or through any other channel. The request covers a wide range
of areas and crosses over multiple offices and agencies. To satisfactorily
confirm that all records requested have been included in such a response would
be unreasonably burdensome, given the short timeframe provided. However, to
assist the committee, the minister will endeavour to provide all records
requested that can be reasonably located prior to the date provided.
