I refer the minister to the Legislative Council Estimates Committee that was held in June this year, in particular, the session with the Water Corporation. At that Estimates Committee I raised the issue of the re-erection of a fence following some sewerage works at 137 Arlunya Avenue, Cloverdale with officers of the Water Corporation. I was given an undertaking that the Water Corporation would use its best endeavours to solve the issues that had arisen. Some five months later, notwithstanding the fact that I have been in contact with the Water Corporation on a number of occasions, very little progress has been made. The owner of the house in Cloverdale is obviously upset at the lack of action by the Water Corporation. Will the minister take it under his own wing and endeavour to try to reach a satisfactory conclusion on this matter? If it requires a meeting between the owner of the house, the managing director of the Water Corporation and me, I would be pleased to attend. At the moment the Water Corporation’s actions have been absolutely miserable. Hon NICK GRIFFITHS

I thank the member for some notice of this question. I recall the issue being raised in the Estimates Committee. As a result of that, I requested the Water Corporation to confer with the member. I am pleased to hear that, at least, has taken place. I am very disturbed at what the member has put to me and I will raise this issue with the managing director of the Water Corporation with a view to see whether a proper result can be achieved as soon as possible. If a proper result can be achieved, it should have been achieved by now.
