I have given no notice of this question. (1) Does the minister accept that it is important to ensure that jarrah timber is used for furniture production? (2) Furthermore, does the minister agree that jarrah furniture should be manufactured in Western Australia and not overseas? (3) If the minister agrees with (1) and (2), is he aware that current value-adding requirements do not provide any guarantees that Western Australian jarrah will be used for furniture or transformed into such furniture in WA? (4) What immediate steps does the minister intend to take to ensure that the requirements of the Western Australian jarrah furniture industry are supported by his Government? Hon KIM CHANCE
