Perth Bears—National Rugby League
586. Mr Peter Rundle to
the Premier:
I have a
supplementary question. Given the scale of this commitment, will the Premier table
the full business case and cost–benefit analysis so that taxpayers can
judge for themselves whether this represents value for money?

AnswerView source ↗

Where does the
member stand on the $13 million that we pay per annum to the West Australian
Football Commission? Where does the member stand on that?
Point of order
Mr Liam Staltari: My point of order is on relevance.
The supplementary question was a specific question to the Premier that he has
totally ignored.
The Speaker: Thank you, member. I shall not be
upholding that point of order. The Premier is responding and can give
background circumstances in that response.
Questions without notice resumed
Mr Roger Cook: Does the member stand by the premise of
his question and say that he does not want any WA taxpayers' money to go
towards the WA Football Commission as part of its agreement? Does the member
stand by the premise of his question that says he does not want any money to go
to any sporting code? Is that the member's contention? He is saying that he
wants the money to go here but not there because he likes Aussie Rules but not
rugby league. It is called "league" member, not rugby. Honestly, this
mob cannot be taken seriously. What do they stand for? They do not stand for
anything.
Several members
interjected.
The Speaker: M embers!
Mr Roger Cook: What do they stand for? They do not
stand for anything. Quite frankly, they cannot be trusted and should not be
taken seriously.
