Industries and Regional Development annual report 2018, which states that the
Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act 2007 review will be progressed
during 2018–19.
(1) What is the status of this
review and when is the expected completion date?
(2) How many departmental staff are
working on this review?
(3) What consultation with the
agricultural sector is being undertaken in relation to this review?

(1) The review of
the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act 2007 has been reprioritised to
commence in early 2020 in order to focus on other legislative priorities in
2019. It is anticipated that the review will take approximately 12 months to
complete.
(2) At present, one officer is
developing a plan for the review of the act.
(3) No
consultation is presently being undertaken in relation to this review. The
agricultural sector will be consulted and engaged early in the review process.
