I refer to an article in The Weekend Australian of 28-29 July 2001 that states - There is strong community opposition to the introduction of poker machines, and Premier Geoff Gallop promised not to introduce them to pubs and clubs during the election campaign. But others in the Government are sympathetic to Burswood’s arguments, offering the potential for a compromise. Is the minister one of those in government who is sympathetic to the arguments of Burswood Resort Casino; and, if so, why? If the minister is not sympathetic to Burswood’s arguments, who in government is sympathetic to Burswood’s arguments? Hon N.D. GRIFFITHS
