I refer the minister to his response in question time yesterday when he tried to excuse the chronic mismanagement of health services in the south west. (1) Why has he not corrected the record from yesterday when he provided misleading and incorrect information to the Parliament about Ian Atkinson, a patient at the South West Health Campus? (2) Will he now apologise for misleading the Parliament and immediately correct the record? Mr J.A. McGINTY

(1)-(3) Very simply, the information I gave to the Parliament was provided to me by the South West Area Health Service, which said that the member for Bunbury’s information was wrong. The South West Area Health Service provided me with the official hospital record for Mr Atkinson, which indicated that the member’s over-the-top rhetoric was completely misplaced in that situation. To the best of my knowledge, the information that I provided to the house was 100 per cent correct.
