I refer to the new Disability Justice Centre under construction in Lord Street, Caversham and I ask: (a) how high is the external fencing surrounding the centre; (b) what material is the external fencing made up of; (c) to what standard is the external fencing being built to; (d) have the plans for the external fencing changed since the Lord Street Disability Justice Centre was initially designed; and (e) if the plans for the external fencing have changed, how have they changed?

a) The external fence is 3000mm high. Fence heights will vary marginally due to undulating ground however the above-mentioned height is the minimum height.
b) The external fence is a chain-link mesh coated in plastic covering.
c) The external fence complies with Australian Standard 1725 - 2003, specifically AS 1725.1-2010.
d) Yes.
In the design schematics for the Disability Justice Centre as at August 2013 the external security fence diagram displayed a staggered/stepped top rail. The current fence has been installed to have a continuous flow top rail. This change was made following advice from the installer
