A WA parliamentary question regarding allegations of excessive force by police officers Traynor and Clark in Fremantle in 2008, following a report by the Parliamentary Inspector of the Corruption and Crime Commission. The response indicates the officers are still on duty, had contact with the public, and the matter was investigated at the district level, but not by internal affairs.

I refer to a report tabled in September 2011 by the Parliamentary Inspector of the Corruption and Crime Commission, Chris Steytler, and the allegations contained in that report of excessive use of force by police outside the Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle in November 2008. (1) Are Officers Traynor and Clark still on operational duty with personal access to use a Taser? (2) Do these officers currently have contact with members of the public? (3) Has there been an internal affairs unit investigation into those allegations? (4) Were these allegations investigated at district or station level; and if so, which district or station? (5) Since the matter was referred to the Crime and Corruption Commission by the WA Commissioner of Police, has WA Police received advice from the Corruption and Crime Commission that it will carry out a formal investigation into the matter; and if so, when did it receive the advice?
