I have a supplementary question. Given the Premier’s failure to refer those allegations to the proper authorities, is it not the case that the Premier is no more accountable than his predecessors - Brian Burke, Peter Dowding and Carmen Lawrence? Dr G.I. GALLOP

What an insult that question is coming from the Leader of the Opposition - a person who was made aware of a serious issue concerning payments made by Western Power and did nothing about it. I remind the House of what I said yesterday: the Corruption and Crime Commission will investigate the facts of that matter. If its investigations reveal that a breach has occurred, it will follow it up. That is what we should do on all these issues. So, my friend, it is the responsibility of the Labor Party to find the facts, and that is what it will do. Mr C.J. Barnett: The law applies to everyone but the Labor Party. The SPEAKER: Order, Leader of the Opposition! Mr C.J. Barnett: That is what this is about. The SPEAKER: I call the Leader of the Opposition to order for the first time.
