POLICE — G2G PASS DATA
858. Hon PETER COLLIER to the minister representing the
Minister for Police:
I refer the minister to the data
collected and stored by the Western Australia Police Force for G2G
applications.
(1) Have there
been any instances of unlawful access to the information contained in the G2G
applications; and, if yes, how many and when?
(2) Who has access to the
information contained in the G2G applications?
(3) How long will the information
contained in the G2G applications be retained?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The Western Australia Police Force has provided
the following advice.
(1) There have been no instances of
unlawful access to G2G data.
(2) G2G data has
been archived and only six Western Australia Police Force staff have access to
the data.
(3) G2G data will
be retained for 25 years before being transferred to the State Records Office,
in accordance with records retention policies.
