1109. Hon KATE DOUST to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the bus stop accessibility works program that is currently
being undertaken by the Public Transport Authority. I believe it falls within
federal government legislation under the Disability Discrimination Act.
(1) How many bus stops in Western Australia
have been assessed as already complying with the legislation?
(2) What is the total number of bus stops in
Western Australia that have been assessed as needing to be upgraded to satisfy
legislative requirements?
(3) What is the overall cost of the program
and are the funds being provided by the commonwealth or by a combination of
state and federal funding?
(4) If funding is shared, what will the
overall cost be to the Western Australian government going forward?
